You must start the application process before taking any training. Each county/city has different requirements as to when you can start the training process. When issuing Concealed Carry Weapon licenses in California, the Sheriff and his staff must follow strict state and local guidelines. This type of background check involves a lot of detail, so appointment times and processing times can sometimes take multiple weeks. In order to secure a Concealed Carry Weapon license, an interview appointment will be scheduled during the application process.
